Sound Design
Sound Design is original non-musical sound, orchestrated to effect. Some sounds come from nature, such as thunder and lightning, or a bird's call. Other sound design is subtler and often unrecognizable. Since changes in our aural environment are perceived mostly on a subconscious level, sound design can consciously steer the subconscious of the audience.
Philip Howard has provided Sound Design for the following projects:
- Michael Doughton "Silhouette", CD project, Michael Doughton. Creation and field recordings of custom Sound Effects for CD production. Creating lead-ins and outs for songs.
- St. Francis Hospital, "ER Opening", Image Associates. Creation of "sound-a-like" Sound Effects for this commercial, featuring a voice over by William Shatner.
- "Letter TV". Computer Animated Children's Series, Destiny Images. Custom Sound Effects and Sound Design for Series, including award winning pilot, "Letter-D".
